Morgan's Gully -  Boonoo Boonoo National Park

Although Tenterfield was originally settled by sheep and cattle farmers, the population exploded in the 1880's after the discovery of gold at Morgans Gully and Ropers Gully, just north of the town.

In Morgan's Gully there is a hand dug water race where gravel was washed as well as rocks placed to reinforce the river bank.
